IBSAT is designed to assess a candidate's aptitude in Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation, Data Adequacy, Vocabulary, Analytical Reasoning, and Reading Comprehension. The test consists of multiple-choice questions and does not have negative marking. After the examination, shortlisted candidates are invited to the IBS Selection Process, which typically includes a Micro Presentation and Personal Interview (PI). Final admission is based on overall performance, including academic background and selection process performance.

IBSAT (ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test) is a national-level MBA entrance examination conducted by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad. It is held annually in remote-proctored online mode for admission to MBA and PGPM programmes offered by IBS campuses across India. Candidates with valid CAT, XAT, GMAT, NMAT by GMACβ’, or CUET PG scores are generally exempt from taking the IBSAT exam, subject to the institute's admission policy.

1. A bachelor's degree (any discipline) from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks. 2. Minimum 15 years of regular education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4). 3. The medium of instruction throughout education should be English. Candidates not meeting this requirement may need to submit valid English proficiency scores (such as TOEFL, IELTS, or NELT), as prescribed by IFHE. 4. Candidates in the final year of graduation are eligible to apply, subject to completing their degree and meeting all eligibility requirements before the admission deadline. 5. Candidates with valid CAT, XAT, GMAT, NMAT by GMACβ’, or CUET PG scores may apply directly for the IBS selection process without appearing for IBSAT, subject to the institute's admission policy.

IBSAT does not publish official category-wise or campus-wise cutoff scores. Candidates are shortlisted for the IBS Selection Process based on their IBSAT score or other accepted national-level entrance examination scores (CAT, XAT, GMAT, NMAT by GMACβ’, or CUET PG), along with the institute's admission criteria. The actual shortlist may vary each year depending on the number of applicants, exam difficulty, seat availability, and overall competition.

IBSAT scores are accepted by nine ICFAI Business School (IBS) campuses across India for admission to MBA and PGPM programmes. All participating institutes are private management schools and offer admissions through a common selection process consisting of a Micro Presentation (MP) and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates may also apply using valid CAT, XAT, GMAT, NMAT by GMACβ’, or CUET PG scores, subject to the institute's admission policy.

Step 1: Qualify Through IBSAT or Accepted National Test Candidates must either appear for IBSAT or have a valid CAT, XAT, GMAT, NMAT by GMACβ’, or CUET PG score to be considered for admission. Step 2: Check Result and Shortlisting After the declaration of results, shortlisted candidates are informed by the institute and become eligible for the IBS Selection Process. Step 3: Attend Selection Briefing Shortlisted candidates participate in the IBS Selection Briefing, where they receive information about the admission process, participating campuses, and required documents. Step 4: Micro Presentation (MP) Candidates are required to deliver a short presentation on a given topic. This stage evaluates communication skills, confidence, clarity of thought, and presentation ability. Step 5: Personal Interview (PI) Qualified candidates appear for a Personal Interview conducted by the admission panel. The interview assesses academic background, general awareness, communication skills, career goals, and overall suitability for management education. Step 6: Final Merit List The final merit list is prepared based on the candidate's entrance test score (IBSAT or other accepted test), performance in the Micro Presentation and Personal Interview, academic profile, and other admission criteria prescribed by the institute. Step 7: Admission Offer Selected candidates receive an admission offer from the allotted IBS campus and must confirm their acceptance within the stipulated deadline. Step 8: Document Verification & Fee Payment Candidates must submit the required original documents for verification and pay the prescribed admission fee to secure their seat. Step 9: Reporting to the Allotted Campus After completing all admission formalities, candidates report to the allotted IBS campus on the scheduled date to begin the academic session.
