1. What is the eligibility criteria for XAT?

You must possess a recognized Bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years’ duration in any discipline. Final-year students are also eligible, provided they complete their degree by June 2027. There is no minimum percentage requirement and no upper age limit.

2. Can I apply for XAT if I have backlogs in graduation?

Yes, you can register and sit for the exam. However, you must clear all backlogs and submit your final graduation passing marksheet to your target institute by the specified admission deadline (usually June 2027).

3. What is the registration fee for XAT 2027?

The standard registration fee is ₹2,200 for all candidates. If you wish to apply for XLRI programmes (like BM or HRM), you must pay an additional ₹200 per programme. The fee is non-refundable.

4. Is there any registration fee concession for SC/ST/PwD categories?

No. XLRI maintains a uniform fee structure. The registration fee of ₹2,200 applies equally to all candidates regardless of their category.

5. How many test cities can I select during registration?

You can select up to six preferred test cities in order of priority from the provided drop-down menu during your online application submission.

6. Can I edit my XAT application form after payment?

No, you cannot edit critical fields (like your name, date of birth, test city, or program selection) once the payment is successful. Always review your details using the “Preview” button before final submission.

8. Is work experience mandatory to apply for XAT?

No, work experience is not mandatory to take the XAT exam or to apply for XLRI’s flagship BM and HRM programmes. However, specific programs like the XLRI Executive PGDM (GMP) require a minimum of 5 years of post-graduation work experience.

9. How is XAT different from the CAT exam?

XAT includes two unique sections: Decision Making and General Knowledge. Furthermore, XAT does not enforce sectional time limits during its main aptitude paper, whereas CAT strictly limits you to 40 minutes per section.
