What the NMAT City List Tells You

  • Uttar Pradesh has the most NMAT test cities (6). Maharashtra and Rajasthan follow with five each.
  • Several states have just one city. Candidates in Punjab (Ludhiana), Uttarakhand (Haridwar), Assam (Jorhat) and Telangana (Hyderabad) have a single option each.
  • Some familiar cities are missing. Guwahati, Dehradun and Amritsar don’t appear on the current official list. Candidates there need to book a nearby listed city.
  • States with no listed city, such as Himachal Pradesh, need a neighbouring state’s centre. Chandigarh and Ludhiana are the closest listed cities for many Himachal candidates.

NMAT Test Centre Allotment: How Slot Booking Works

Unlike exams that assign you a city after registration, NMAT lets you pick your slot.

  1. Register on mba.com with your personal and academic details. Enter your address carefully.
  2. Schedule your exam. GMAC shows test centres closer to you based on the information in your application form.
  3. Pick your date, time and centre from the available slots.
  4. Move fast. GMAC says slots for date, time and centre are first come, first served, and it strongly recommends scheduling early.
  5. Download your admit card 7 days before the exam to see the full centre address.

Test City vs Exact Centre Address

Many candidates search for a street-level list of NMAT exam centres. GMAC publishes cities on its website and shows the exact address only to you.

  • The city is what you pick while scheduling. The table above lists every option.
  • The centre address appears on your admit card, which goes live 7 days before your exam.

Download a fresh admit card for each attempt. A retake needs a new admit card, and your centre may differ from your first attempt.

How to Choose the Right NMAT Exam Centre

Use this checklist before you confirm a slot.

  1. Pick the centre you can reach without an overnight journey. A tired start costs more in an adaptive test than a slightly less convenient date.
  2. Compare two or three centres, not just one. Dates fill at different speeds, so a city 60 to 100 km away might offer the date you want.
  3. Book the date you can prepare for. Choose a slot after your last full-length mock, not a week before it.
  4. Scout the route once. Trace the route at the same hour as your slot, because traffic differs by time of day.
  5. Treat rescheduling as a backup, not a plan. Each reschedule costs ₹1,200 plus taxes, and GMAC allows it until 17 December.

Practise under timed conditions before your slot. CATMOCK offers NMAT full-length mocks and NMAT sectional tests, so you can rehearse the exam format before you walk into the centre.

Common NMAT Centre Mistakes to Avoid

  • Trusting an old list. Use only the official GMAC page for the current city list.
  • Waiting for the last day. First-come, first-served means late bookers get leftover slots.
  • Assuming your nearest big city has a centre. Guwahati and Dehradun, for example, don’t appear on the current list.
  • Reusing an old admit card. GMAC requires a fresh copy for every attempt.
  • Skipping the 45-minute buffer. GMAC asks candidates to arrive at least 45 minutes early.
